Mr. Perfect: Colón Tosses Rare Gem
Over the course of baseball history, some moments stand a little taller than others. One of those moments happened today at Rough Riders Ballpark. <Enrique Colón:player#13747> of the <Long Island Rough Riders:team#99> beat the Players 2-0 and threw a perfect game. He dominated <Quahog:team#95> in a way rarely seen. By the end of the game, he had rung up 10 <Quahog:team#95> hitters on strikeouts, showed superb control in not allowing a single walk and did not even allow a base hit. There were no errors, either. No one got on base.

The fans gave <Enrique Colón:player#13747> a well-deserved standing ovation as he left the mound. They knew they had witnessed one of the rariest events in baseball.

<Colón:player#13747> told reporters in the postgame press conference that he never dreamed of throwing a perfect game. "As a kid, you always think of pitching to win the final game of a championship," <Colón:player#13747> said. "You never think of pitching a perfect game, because it just seems unattainable. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life."

This season <Colón:player#13747> has compiled a 8-5 mark, 3.53 ERA and made 21 starts.
